Samuel had thought that his sixth year would end up just being like any other year at Hogwarts but he couldn’t have been more wrong. The Enlightened had revealed magic to the world and in doing so they had thrown everything into chaos. Samuel knew that things were never going to be the same again and all he could hope for was that his family and friends would get through this in one piece. He had already lost his dad before he was even born and it had taken him a while to accept Josh when he came along. Now Samuel was glad that he had two parents he loved in his life but for a long time he had thought that he would never be able to accept anyone replacing his dad. It had taken him a while to realise that that wasn’t what Josh wanted to do and it was after the guy stayed with him while he was ill that he had finally learned to let him in. Now Samuel’s family was larger than it had been while he was growing up, it used to be just him, his mum, his older sister Nessie and his twin sister Savannah but now their family had doubled in size with not just the addition of Josh but the addition of three younger siblings as well. Samuel had never seen that coming but he knew now that he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Right now it was easy for him to spend Savannah since they were in the same house and year at Hogwarts but he didn’t get to spend as much time with Nessie given that she had graduated and had moved out of the house. He worried about her now more than ever and it felt like it had been far too long since they had last seen each other. They kept in touch all the time, something that was much easier now that technology had moved on, but it wasn’t quite the same as seeing her face to face and that was why he had decided to stop by the gallery that day and see if she could spare some time to hang out with him. It was always a little bittersweet going there since the gallery had once belonged to his dad and had been named after him but Samuel was proud of his sister for taking it over. Heading inside, his gaze swept over some of the pieces on display before his eyes finally came to rest on his sister. “Hey Ness, got some time you can spare for your favourite brother?” he teased. There was a time when he was her only brother but that wasn’t true now although he still couldn’t resist teasing her nonetheless.
