Graduation 2022

It was already the third week of July and the school year had come to a close three weeks ago. The House Cup had been awarded, a lot of the students had travelled back home for the summer and for those students who had taken their OWLs, NEWTs and MICE (Majorly Important Career Examinations administered to Hogwarts University students) the results had been sent out by owl post a few days ago. Hogwarts had been quiet for the most part ever since the students and staff had returned to their homes but that day was completely different as it was the day the seventh and tenth years who had managed to pass their exams were going to be graduating. A copy of the exam results had been sent to Will the day they were sent out to the students so he could make the arrangements and he, Kirsten and some of the other staff had been busy ever since. That year graduation would be taking place out by the lake, it was a beautiful spot and the open air location meant that the Ministry workers and Guardians assigned to watch over the event could move around freely without being noticed. The students and their families had all been invited and the students were free to invite others they wished to have attend as well. Normally security wasn't an issue but that year everyone attending would be subject to screening procedures as would their belongings. Will knew there were going to be people who weren't happy about it but considering the times they lived in, it was a necessary evil.

Now, as it was, the ceremony was due to take place any moment. Those in attendance had all taken their seats and the graduates were all sitting together waiting for their names to be called. As the clock struck 1 p.m., Will made his way to the front of the stage and gave a welcoming speech to those in attendance and congratulated the students who were graduating before calling them up to the stage one by one so they could shake hands with him and Kirsten and collect their diplomas.
