Teddy had no idea why he was nervous right now but he couldn't help it. He had already done one of the hardest things, he had talked to Bill and asked for his blessing to propose to Vee and that had been given so much easier than he had ever thought it would. He was just a baby when his parents died and their friends had really stepped up to help his grandmother out as much as they could. He had lost count of the amount of days he had spent with the Potter family and the various branches of the Weasley family and even though nothing could ever change the fact that his parents weren't there to watch him grow up, having people around who had really known them helped. He had heard so many stories about them while he was growing up that he honestly felt like he knew them too and that was more than he ever could have asked for.
It had taken a while for him and Vee to get together, Teddy was older than she was and he hadn't wanted to do anything inappropriate so he had buried his feelings for her until she was sixteen. By that time he was nineteen and he knew that their relationship might have been frowned upon by some but they had so much history together that it hadn’t surprised Teddy that he had fallen for her. Vee was part veela but her charms had never worked on him the way they had on others for some reason. Instead he knew that what he felt for her was real and now she would be graduating from Hogwarts in a few weeks and the next chapter of their life together would begin. They were already living together and pretty soon they would be working together as well but that still wasn't enough for Teddy. He had seen the devastation the Enlightened had caused firsthand and he knew just how easily a life could be taken away so he knew that he didn't want to waste any time or live with any regrets. That was what had brought him to the jewellery shop in Diagon Alley after having already looked in a couple in Hogsmeade and the surrounding area. He had taken a couple of hours off work so he could try and find a ring while Vee was busy at Hogwarts getting ready for her finals but so far he hadn't had any luck finding one that he thought she would like. He knew he could have headed into London or somewhere like that and had a lot more choice but shopping wasn't something that Teddy particularly liked so he knew that he would much rather avoid the big crowds there if he could. Instead he ducked into another jewellery shop and started browsing the selection of rings they had on offer, trying to find the perfect one.
