Jensen had known that taking over leading the Guardians was going to be a big responsibility but even so he had never known anything like this. Voldemort and his Death Eaters had turned the magical world upside down which was bad enough but the Enlightened had done it to the muggle world as well. He was only a child while everything was going on with Voldemort but this was completely different and now so many people were looking to him expecting him to know exactly what to do. Jensen sometimes wondered if he was making the right decisions but he had always been good at thinking things through logically and even if others might claim that they would decide differently in his position he was doing his best and he knew that he really couldn’t do anything more than that. Jensen had a lot at stake this time and he would be lying if he said that that didn’t scare him a little, for the first time in his life he had people he loved that he could lose and he was determined to make sure that that didn’t happen. He had Amara and they had their son and he knew that he wasn’t going to let anything happen to either of them. Amara was more than capable of looking out for herself but Jensen would never forget how difficult things were for her when she first became a vampire and he knew that he wanted to save her from that as much as he could.
That day he had had a meeting at the Ministry with the Minister for Magic so they could share the information they had gathered and it had actually ended up giving them both some new leads. Jensen’s Guardians had been split into two groups, there were those who were tasked with protecting the magical community and there were those who were tasked with trying to track down the Enlightened. The two groups often overlapped when need be but they were all doing their bit. With his meeting over Jensen knew that he should head back to Guardian Headquarters and update the high ranking Guardians he had working under him but there was one thing that he wanted to do first and he felt a smile form on his face as he spotted a familiar figure making her way towards him. “Hi love,” he said, his hands finding Amara’s waist as he pulled her to him and greeted her with a kiss. “My meeting has just finished so how would you feel about having lunch together before I go back?” he asked, hoping that she would have time.
