Technology wasn't Cora's best friend in the slightest. She didn't understand half of it though she had avoided muggles for decades since they developed most of technology, worried of being discovered in photos or those camera things that took live photos making her keep her distance, but she was starting to get the hang of it, at least because of Angel she was getting the hang of it. He didn't find anything odd about that, a lot of wizards struggled with the new technology so it wasn't strange, though she'd still yet to confess that while she was a vampire, which he'd already figured out from their first meeting, she was very old for a vampire, predating the Ministry of Magic's creation in age. Time was so different back then, and while she struggled with technology she did like that advancements in medicine and magic made lives longer and healthier, and advancements for her had let her enjoy the sunshine she'd always missed when she was turned. Being such a young child when she was turned meant most of her memories consisted of the dark and she couldn't remember after all these years anything but her vampirism though she wished she could forget some of her earlier, darker days when she lacked control and had a raging hunger that she wasn't the greatest at controlling it. She was smart enough to move to areas of less population so she could resist in that respect but it also made the murders she committed more hard hitting when she heard the anguished cries of the family when they found her victim dead of an animal attack, for what else could it be but a wild animal. A hunting party would go out for a hunt and she'd slip away the next nightfall before she could feed again and let them feel like an animal they killed was the perpetrator. It'd gotten easier after the invention of the daylight potion and her going to Hogwarts where she learned control and how to drink blood not from the vein in order to continue at the school though jobs for her weren't exactly easy to come by unless she hid what she was, which was easier now that she could walk in the daylight and control herself. She'd done a lot of travelling, and fallen in love and lost a few times in her life, and had decided to take a break from that and just settle down again, just in time for the world to discover magic, which left them a short more time before they discovered that it wasn't just witches and wizards but vampires and werewolves that were real too.
Ever since running into Angel though she'd enjoyed the connection of another vampire, the fact that she didn't have to hide who she was, that her place was open to him with her bags of blood in the fridge side by side with the real food. She invited him to dinner often as a result, feeling a genuine connection and friendship blooming with him and liked hearing his stories of Hogwarts as it was now compared to when she was a student as he recounted both stories of his time as a student and in the medical side of things as a doctor now. She wanted to ask for a tour to see what'd changed over the years since she attended, but with the Enlightened she wasn't sure if that would be allowed though one of these days she'd just have to come out and ask. She'd invited him over tonight so maybe she'd ask over dinner. She loved to cook so she had been at it for a couple hours in prep, making her own bread that was baking and filling her home with a lovely smell that topped the homemade noodles and sauce that bubbled steadily on the stovetop, chicken cooked and mixing with the sauce while the noodles cooked for a homemade version of chicken alfredo. She didn't always get to cook a meal like this, work was busy with the attacks and rioting around the area and slipping in and out of the hospital for transporting and shifts there to help them as well didn't always leave her a lot of time but she liked to make it when she could. She'd put out wine as well if he wanted it as well as the blood bags and had changed from her uniform to a pair of black leggings and oversized green sweater with her blonde hair lightly curled just because. Stirring the sauce as the doorbell chimed she rushed to the door and pulled it open to smile at Angel, "Hey there, come on in. Food's just about done. While you're here could you help me with my phone? I sorta...broke the old one, again, so I had to upgrade and I have no clue how to recover my old information. The dinner came before the phone though. Promise." She chuckled sheepishly as she showed him the new phone on the island in the kitchen the box next to it as it charged, her laptop at the table open to the place that they uploaded patient information files while music softly played in the background from the computer.
