Angel had always considered himself pretty lucky to have missed everything that had happened with Voldemort and the Death Eaters, things had been pretty calm ever since then but there was a part of him that had known that it wouldn’t last. There were always going to be those out there who thought that they knew best and wanted things done their way and the Enlightened definitely fell into that category. They had revealed magic to the world by using it to cause nothing but death and destruction and the muggles were understandably scared. Magic was bound to be revealed at some point given just how far things had moved on over the last few decades but this wasn’t the way. Now all around the world people were dying needlessly, both muggles and witches and wizards alike, and it needed to stop but Angel knew that that was going to be much easier said than done. Even so he didn’t doubt that those in positions of power were doing their best, he knew that Will and Kirsten definitely were and from what Summer had told him the same was true of Micheal, the Minister for Magic. It was still strange to Angel that someone in such a high position was spending time with his sister but he knew that it wasn’t as simple as that. Micheal had been Finn’s boss when he’d died and ever since then the guy had been doing his best to be there for Summer and the girls. Angel and his and Summer’s friends were doing their best as well but the truth was that Summer always seemed happy after spending time with Micheal and that was something that Angel really was grateful for.
After Finn died he had worried that his twin would never be happy again but she had the girls to keep going for and she seemed to be doing just that. While Angel was happy that Summer was happy, he knew that he was always going to be protective of her and the last thing he wanted was for her to end up getting hurt so he had asked Micheal to meet him for a drink if he had the time. The guy was a vampire who was older than both of them and had seen so much more than either of them had. He no doubt knew what it was like to love someone and lose them and he had been there for Summer while she was at her lowest point. Angel wasn’t sure if there was anything more than that going on between them, he suspected that there was on Summer’s part at least although she hadn’t told him that outright and he knew that he wanted to make sure that Micheal wasn’t going to break her heart the same way others had before. Heading to the Three Broomsticks, Angel ordered himself a drink and waited to see if Micheal could spare the time to see him. He knew that the guy was incredibly busy but he was important to Summer and that alone was enough to make Angel want to get to know him better.
