Say hello to the Littner family. David and Remy met while they were kids and got married a few years after they graduated from Hogwarts. To everyone they were the perfect couple and they were great parents to their firstborn child Reece for the first two years of his life until Mason came along and then their attention shifted to him. With each child they welcomed into the family they started noticing Reece even less although Mason had always been the louder of the brothers and he made sure that his parents didn’t ignore him too.

When he became old enough, Reece often had to cook for his siblings while their parents worked and he was the one who had to tidy the house before their parents got home whenever his siblings decided to trash the place. As he got older he started having to look after his siblings more and more as their parents were becoming more distant. Their mum developed post partum depression after Rebecca was born which was left untreated and their dad turned to drink. By the time Reece turned eleven he didn’t feel like he could leave his siblings behind so he decided that he was going to stay home rather than attend Hogwarts but that was the first time his dad hit him and made it clear that he would be going. Reece had to make his own way to Diagon Alley to buy his supplies and he returned home with everything he needed along with some sweets for his siblings that he had bought with the leftover money.

He incurred the wrath of their dad when the man saw the owl Reece had bought but he had done it so he could stay in touch with his siblings so it was worth it. Reece wrote to his siblings often while he was at Hogwarts and thankfully their dad never laid a hand on any of the other kids, he reserved that just for Reece. Their dad sent Reece a howler that hurled abuse at him for being sorted into Slytherin and thankfully the other siblings were sorted into different houses when it was their turn.

Reece was the one who took them all to Diagon Alley to get their school supplies and he managed to convince his friend’s parents to give each of them a lift to King’s Cross Station with him when the time came. It was during Reece’s third year and Mason’s first year that their mum took her own life and Reece was left to break the news to Mason after receiving a letter from St Mungo’s notifying him of her death – their father couldn’t be bothered to let him know. By the time Reece and Mason returned home for the funeral their dad lying passed out on the sofa was a frequent occurrence.

After Reece graduated he decided to stick around and be there for his siblings but they knew how much he had always wanted to travel and pushed him to go, especially Sydney, since by that time they had all figured out what was being done to him. Reece agreed to go for a year before returning home for them but that was cut short by a few months when he learned that their dad had died. Reece returned home, organised the funeral and became his siblings’ legal guardian. For the last ten years he has been looking after his siblings while rising up through the ranks within the Ministry and now that all of his siblings have finished their compulsory education at Hogwarts and are looking at getting places of their own he is waiting until they have done that so he can sell the house they grew up in and leave that chapter of their lives behind them once and for all.

MASON LITTNER

Mason is the one most likely to butt heads with Reece. Even as a baby Mason was incredibly loud and he would often scream and shout whenever their parents’ attention shifted to Sydney when she came along. In the end they learned to tune him out so he took to annoying Reece by often stealing his toys instead. Now Mason is older their relationship is a bit better but they still don’t always get along.

SYDNEY LITTNER

Sydney is the eldest daughter and is the one that Reece has always got along with the best. Sydney was the first to figure out what their dad was doing to Reece and she always tried to help give Reece an excuse to get out of the house when being there got too much. She was the one who encouraged him to go travelling after graduation the most and assured him that they would all be fine without him for a while even though that left Mason as the one who would be looking out for them and she tried to stop him coming home after their dad died but Reece returned home to make the funeral arrangements and be there for his siblings anyway.

AIDEN LITTNER

Aiden can be a bit cocky at times but the relationship between him and Reece is better than the relationship between Reece and Mason. He was only four when their mum died so he doesn’t have many memories of her.

REBECCA LITTNER

Rebecca is the baby of the family and naturally she is the one that Reece is most protective of. She is a sweet kid and he’ll do anything to keep her safe – something that Rebecca loves since they have always been close. She was only three when their mum died so she doesn’t have many memories of her.
