Summer tried to spend time with her friends as much as she could but the truth was that with Chantal and Ana both playing quidditch professionally and she and Chantal being parents she couldn’t remember the last time they had been able to hang out together. In reality it probably hadn’t actually been that long but it felt like it had been and that was the problem. Summer knew she was lucky to have made two best friends at Hogwarts who had stayed with her even after graduation but she wouldn’t have it any other way. The three of them had always been there for each other, they had rallied around Chantal after she and Seth broke up, they had been there for Ana after Will’s wife died and later Ana herself was attacked and both of them had been there for her after Finn died. Summer had gained a sister when her mum had adopted but even before that she had already gained two and she was always going to be grateful for them. There was a voice in the back of Summer’s mind that always seemed to remind her that one day Chantal and Ana would be gone and it would just be her left but that was true of a lot of people and Summer knew that she wasn’t going to stop it letting her make the most of having the two of them around while she could.
That day they were long overdue for a catch up and they had decided to make a day of it. Seth and Angel had the kids which meant that Summer was free to enjoy her time with her best friends. They had agreed to meet for coffee first and from there they were going to go shopping or do whatever else they wanted to do and the truth was that Summer couldn’t wait. She often took the girls to watch the two of them play and Chantal and Ana sometimes had time to hang out afterwards but they both had their own lives to lead as well so Summer knew that she wanted to make the most of this chance while she could. None of them were getting any younger, Chantal had settled down with Seth and they had an amazing little boy in Luca while Summer was pretty sure that there was something going on between Ana and Matt even if she hadn’t said anything about it recently. Either way it had been far too long since they had last been able to do this and Summer knew that they were going to have to make sure that it became a much more regular occurrence. For now she knew that she couldn’t wait to see her friends and since she had reached the coffee shop first she ordered each of them their regular and sat down at an empty table as she waited for them to arrive.
