Ana knew that the girls were right she didn’t want to put her life on hold and miss the window for kids or let the man she wanted them with slip through her fingers because of the insanity in the world, especially when the world would never be the same one she’d grown up in, much like the one her parents grew up in wasn’t the same as the generation before. A lot had happened in the world with the Enlightened revealing magic and things would never go back to the way they were before, this was the new reality of the situation, and as far as her attacker, who knew where he or she was and if it was even a continuing threat, for all she knew it was just some peeved person who took out their anger on her and wiped her memory to avoid repercussions for the injustice. She hated that she didn’t know what happened, the when where, or who tugged on her mind a lot to try and remember something, anything, to put the end to the mystery but it was an attempt that had yet to be fruitful and until someone figured it out she had Matt, which, she couldn’t exactly complain about too much given she loved the man. “I know. It’s silly to want to put it on hold and I’m working through the fact that even if there wasn’t the guardian-required issue the world is still pretty crazy anyway and that’ll probably be the case for the rest of at least my lifetime. I do want to wait a bit to give my career some more time to flourish before being pulled though.” She said with a wry chuckle knowing that she couldn’t do anything near the amount of practice she did now when she was pregnant, and then nothing at all after a certain point until after the baby would be born. She knew she’d be peppering Chantal with questions given she did have the same career and juggled it and motherhood seemingly so effortlessly.
Her finger circled the condensation on the cup as she confessed her feelings for Matt and the ensuing worries because of them and heard Summer and Chantal’s answers to those fears and worries and just admitting them, saying them aloud to the two people she was closest to in the world lifted the weight off her chest and made the next breath she took feel a little easier. “He’s amazing at what he does. It seems so effortless, and I don’t think the man ever fully relaxes. He seems to at times, like when we’re chatting after practice, still on the pitch keep in mind, he’s focused on me and the conversation but his eyes still dart around looking for any danger. Same when we’re out for lunch or dinner on the nights I’ve had a long practice, he seems so relaxed and at ease to the world but because I know him as well as I do I know he’s ready for anything at a second’s notice.” She explained then added, a small flush on her cheeks after looking around and just happened to make eye contact with Matt through the window almost as if they were drawn to look at the other at the same time before she pulled her gaze away, “It’s pretty sexy honestly.” Sexy enough they could call it foreplay to make those cute babies Summer teased about moments later. “Oh the cutest for sure.” She agreed without having to think about it because she already had been for quite some time.
Despite the weight falling off her shoulders after getting to confess her worries fears and feelings with Matt and the situation they’d found themselves in she was more than happy to pass the torch on to Summer or Chantal and it was Summer who shared next and she couldn’t believe how big the girls were getting already. It didn’t seem possible that that much time had passed since they were born and she was taking one from Summer’s arms to hold when she came to visit her at the hospital after they’d been born, Chantal taking the other before they swapped, or Ana had them swap for her because she didn’t trust herself to do such a thing with such tiny babies. “Sounds like Aunt Ana needs to start buying multiple sizes of outfits when I send the surprise Auntie loves you packages.” Ana giggled, excited at the prospect of the packages to be bigger and contain not just the size they were in currently but the next one or two as well to save Summer some endless wandwork on so many pieces of clothing. “My nieces, future little Quidditch stars in the making. They must have got it from their Auntie Ana.” She teased knowing that Summer had damn well passed on that gift but hey she was allowed to take the credit even if it was impossible to do so for them. “Please tell me there was picture or even better video capturing that first flight? I will repeat those smiles and giggles on any hard day like it’s a drug.” She definitely wanted to come over to see the girls flying herself soon, even fly with them, well above them, so she didn’t protest when she was grouped in Chantal’s idea of all of them showing up and having a dinner potluck style, loving the idea to spend some time as a big group together, and the fact that Summer’s house was warded meaning Matt could be off duty, as much as he ever was, and they could just relax and be themselves was far too tempting. She didn’t think it was something she had to run by Matt given he was paid to protect her and go with her schedule but she’d leave it up to him if he wanted to participate or escort her to and from if he wasn’t comfortable especially if the Minister was there. “Way too long since we were all together. I’ll ask Matt what he wants to do as far as joining in but we will definitely be there. I wouldn’t miss this for the world.” Spending time with people in a safe environment and with people that they all had personally invited and trusted sounded like the perfect balm to the insanity of practices she’d been living in currently. Especially when the dinner would feature Micheal in his role as Summer’s boyfriend and man was she excited to hear the news as she squealed and got up to hug Summer happily before sitting back down. Maybe this little lunch would turn into a celebration and she should get a round of alcoholic beverages to celebrate. If anyone deserved another shot at happily ever after it was Summer. “Oh I can see how happy he makes you just based on that smile. Girl you are practically glowing.”
She was glad that Summer didn’t have the secrecy of hiding her relationship, she knew that she’d gone through it already and had practically been forced to wipe Finn from the map by changing her and the girls’ name to her maiden name to protect them both before and in the immediate aftermath of Finn’s death and while she was glad Micheal wanted to keep her safe and offered that idea she was even happier that Summer was giving the chance to love out loud again after losing her husband. “Well I’m glad he only wanted to keep it a secret for safety but I’m even more glad that he’s just as happy saying it loud and proud. You deserve to be shown off to the world. The fact that you’re dating the most powerful man in this part of the magical world is one hell of a catch. And it’s natural to worry about an age gap when you saw what that gap did in the past to your parents. Well, your mum and the dude that fathered you but was otherwise useless and undeserving of a parent title.” Ana said easily knowing that it wasn’t always easy to let go of fears just because they didn’t seem rational, fears weren’t always rational and they couldn’t always go away with rationalization when the deeper reason behind the fear had its reasons and logic.
Moving to Chantal’s turn to catch them up in her life with a little tease to her having a new man like she and Summer had she paused in her action to take a drink at the word maybe. Ana had been teasing and had expected Chantal to roll her eyes and remind her she was very happily married but maybe? She didn’t even get to process that fully before she announced she was pregnant and she was very lucky to not have dropped her drink all over the table as she quickly put it down and then got up to hug Chantal with an excited squeal when Summer was done hugging her. “More babies! Oh I am so excited! Congrats Chantal!” She squealed in excitement as Chantal showed her the picture of Luca in his shirt after Summer saw it and she awwed, “That’s so cute. I can’t wait to see Luca as a big brother. How’s the symptoms been?” She asked when Summer took her question of knowing what she was having if she knew, though given she said maybe Ana guessed she didn’t know what she was having.
