The years at Hogwarts were going far too quickly for Samuel’s liking, he had spent years wishing that he was old enough to attend but now he was in his sixth year and he knew that before he knew it the end of his seventh year would be upon him and he would have to face his NEWTs. Right now he knew that he wanted to enjoy the time that he had left at Hogwarts but the truth was that things had been pretty tense ever since the Enlightened revealed magic to the world. Samuel still didn’t understand why anyone had thought that it would be a good idea to do that by using magic to kill others but it was done now and they couldn’t take it back no matter how much they might want to. Now not a day went by when Samuel wasn’t worried about his family and he knew that it was going to be that way for a long time to come. He had given up quidditch so he could be there for his family and help out with his younger siblings more and even though he knew that he had made the right decision the truth was that he still missed it. He was happy though, he had time to spend with his family and friends and that was all that he wanted right now.
That day he had some free time on his hands and Samuel had decided to head into Hogsmeade to do a little Christmas shopping. With so many people to buy for now he knew that he needed all the extra time finding the perfect presents that he could get and he had asked Savannah if she wanted to go with him. He had always loved spending time with his twin and that hadn’t changed as they got older, she was his best friend and he had noticed that she and Ryan had been getting closer lately so this was not just his chance to spend some time with his sister, it was also his chance to find out if there was anything going on there. He hadn’t said anything to either of them about it before, after all Ryan was one of his closest friends as well, and it had never been a secret that Samuel didn’t want his sister getting hurt. He had warned off some guys he knew to be bad guys in the past and he didn’t regret it one bit. He wasn’t sure whether he would ever be okay with the idea of his sister dating someone but he knew that he couldn’t expect her to be alone forever either so all he could hope for was that sooner or later she would find a good guy who would treat her the way she deserved. As Savannah finally joined him in the common room, Samuel felt a smile touch his lips. “You took your time, are you ready to go?” he asked, slipping his wand and wallet into his pockets so they could head out.
