[attr=class, baileylightmaintextbox][attr=class, baileylightmaintext] Bailey knew she should be in bed. Nothing good ever happened after curfew. Unfortunately she couldn’t fall asleep, and there was something she had been debating doing for the longest time. Tonight she was wide awake so she was particularly confident in her ability to sneak around.
[break][break]
She got out of bed, much to the dismay of her dog, Charlie. He glared at her from the spot where he had been cuddled against her side, but at least he didn’t bark. “Good boy,” she whispered, patting his head. She didn’t bother changing out of her nightgown as she slipped into a pair of flats and slid her wand into a pocket. She hesitated by the entrance to the common room, waiting to hear the scuffle of clothing or patter of footsteps. Once she was convinced no one was there she snuck through the abandoned Slytherin common room and out the front door. Now all she had to do was avoid anyone who happened to be patrolling the halls. She doubted there would be many, and the school was very large. Nonetheless, she watched her step at every corner as she snuck through the halls and up to the library.
[break][break]
She nudged the library door, but it didn’t open. She drew her wand and muttered “alohamora” as quietly as she could. She didn’t notice she was holding her breath until it escaped in a sigh as the door clicked open. She may not have been the best at charms, but she had gotten that one down ages ago. She did a surprising amount of sneaking around, it just wasn’t usually towards nefarious ends.
[break][break]
She made her way towards the back of the library where the restricted section was blocked off by a rope. She squinted at the books, but she couldn’t make out any of the titles. “Lumos” she commanded and light shone from her want. She studied the spines of the book, looking for one about potions.
